Mercedes-AMG presents a new technological masterpiece: the AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine is a new development at the sporting heart of the new Mercedes-AMG GT car. This innovative eight-cylinder unit stands out for its sublime power delivery, the purposeful lightweight construction, as well as its high efficiency and environmental compatibility. With peak power of up to 375 kW (503hp) and maximum torque of up to 479 lb-ft the new AMG V8 delivers motorsport-inspired performance. The new sports car engine follows in an impressive V8 tradition that started in 1967 with the M100 in the legendary 300 SEL 6.8 AMG racing car and continues with trendsetting features of the future.

It is the driver's responsibility at all times to be attentive to traffic and road conditions, and to provide the steering, braking and other driving inputs necessary to retain control of the vehicle. Active Emergency Stop Assist may stop the vehicle in travel lanes and activate the hazard flashers if the driver does not respond to its alerts. PERFORMANCE
Heated and ventilated outboard 2nd-row seats match the front seats with their three levels of heating and cooling ventilation. By gently circulating air through perforations in the seat and backrest, ventilated seats help keep you cooler and your clothes drier during warmer months. On cold or damp days, using both the ventilation and heating features together can circulate the seat heating more quickly, to help keep you warm and dry.
Active Parking Assist can search for suitable parallel or perpendicular parking spaces to either side as you drive by. Choose a space to pull or back into, and it can expertly shift, steer and brake for you. When it's time to leave, it can also steer you back out. In any low-speed maneuver, PARKTRONIC sensors in the front and rear bumpers help detect nearby objects within their field of view. Audible signals and illuminated displays in the cabin help you navigate tight spaces with confidence.
INNOVATION
If you're serious about music, you'll enjoy virtually endless play from numerous online music services seamlessly integrated into your Mercedes-Benz via subscription. Services such as Apple Music®, Spotify, TIDAL and Amazon Music can be accessed via the intuitive MBUX voice assistant, along with the music on your linked smartphone or other mobile device. You can stream via your own phone's data plan, or sign up for In-car WiFi.
Electrically heated front seats quickly take the chill out of even the coldest day. Three levels of warming automatically step down after several minutes to the lowest setting.
EPA estimated fuel economy. Compare the estimated mpg to the estimated mpg of other vehicles. You may get different mileage depending on how fast you drive, weather conditions and trip length. Your actual highway mileage will probably be less than the highway estimate.

Mercedes-AMG is systematically following the trend towards increasing efficiency: with a displacement of 5461 cc it is precisely 747 cc below the 6208 cc of the naturally aspirated AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine. Nevertheless, it develops more output and torque. The 2011 CL63 AMG develops a peak output of 536 hp and maximum torque of 590 lb-ft. In conjunction with the AMG Performance Package these figures increase to 563 hp and 664 lb-ft. The torque curve in particular shows that no other engine in this power class is able to match the figures delivered by the new AMG biturbo motor.
Driving while drowsy or distracted is dangerous and must be avoided. Active Lane Keeping Assist cannot be relied on to avoid an accident or serious injury. It may not be sufficient to detect a fatigued, distracted or inattentive driver, and cannot override the laws of physics. You can close all open windows and the sunroof from outside the vehicle, simply by holding down the \"lock\" button on the SmartKey remote while aiming it at the infrared sensor in the driver's door handle. If equipped with ventilated seats, opening the windows pre-activates that feature as well.
